In the video listed below we create a map data between two systems.
Step by step guide for DSYNC data mapping (how to do data mapping)
Step 1. First we need to create a relation between the systems
Step 2. Click on create relation
Step 3. Click the other entity you would like the data mapped to
Step 4. Now we need to name the job, then proceed to select OK.
Step 5. In this tutorial we will be creating our own map
Step 6. Click on the joining line between the attributes, then select “New”
Step 7. Name the map and create a description. Now that the map has been created, we need edit it.
Step 8. Once inside the mapping section it is easy to identify the direction of the data by the source and the destination. By switching to reverse you can map the opposite direction.
Step 9. For this example we will click on “First Name”
Step 10. To add and match a field simply click on “Add field”. A pop up box will appear enabling you to select the field you would like mapped. Select the field you would like mapped. Once you click on the field it will tell you that the attribute has been used. As you click off the pop up area the fields are matched together
Step 11. Here we can add a function by clicking on the “function symbol”. Let’s say for example we would like to show all in upper case simply select “Upper Case” and then select “Add function” As you can see there is a function applied to the specific field

Step 12. We can also use the search function. By typing in the search field it is easy to find the right field to be mapped. It is important to note that on the left side there are required fields. These fields are highlighted in red. Let’s continue with this mapping example….
Step 13. Just say you would like to map an “account name” and you don’t have one from the other system, then you can add a custom field. After selecting the custom field section simply type in what you would like the field to be called, then click add. Let say for example in one system there is a middle name but there isn’t one in the other system, you can add it really easily. You can even put custom rules around the field example putting an extra space in between attributes. The order of the fields can also be moved within the top section of the mapping section. As you can see down here we can add dates, for example “Date of Birth” simply follow the same process to assign the attribute you would like mapped.
Step 14. We can also follow the same process for mapping email addresses. Click on the add field button, match with your desired field. If a second email address is required however it is not in the other system you can simply add another custom field.
Step 15. After we filled out all the fields that we want and we click on save.
Reverse Data Mapping
We can now do the reverse mapping, this mapping section will show the reverse angle of the data. As you can see there are no fields filled out. What we can do is we can use the DSYNC integration pairing map. What it will do is it will grab the data from the other map and pair it on this one. There may be some fields that are required indicated by the red sections on the left. Be sure to map your data or select some customs data fields.
